Gilles Erulin

Gilles has been Global Head of Insurance for Financiere Pinault - Groupe Artémis since 2000 and previously headed its Merger and Acquisitions Group.  He was responsible for the creation in 2001 of Tawa. Gilles managed the acquisition of Aoba (Japan) by Groupe Artémis, the first life insurance company ever acquired 100 per cent by overseas investors in Japan and supervised that company's run-off strategy from 1999.  He managed the sale of Aoba (Japan) in September 2004 to Prudential Life of Japan.  Amongst numerous other transactions within the Financière Pinault group, Gilles managed the 1998 public-to-private take-over of Christie's International Plc, the international auction house. Gilles is a director of and is Chief Executive Officer of Tawa Associates Ltd.  Gilles is a member of the Board and chairs the Audit, Finance and Risk Committee of Christie's Plc.  Gilles is also a non-executive director of Asta Managing Agency Ltd and a director of Asta Capital Limited.

Hugh Evans

Started in the London insurance market in the mid 1970's as a broker. In 1987 joined Unionamerica Insurance Company as a Liability Underwriter.  In 2002 he joined Aspen (then Wellington Re) to assist in the management and review of the casualty account.  In 2012 he left Aspen and started a consultancy practice.

David Vaughan

David is a Chartered Accountant and was a licensed insolvency practitioner who has focused on insurance since 1987. He was a founding member of Tawa, joining in May 2001 at its inception supporting acquisitions and leading operational delivery, for both risk carriers and service lines.  David was previously a director of Tawa and its Chief Operating Officer. Initially he was responsible for starting up and expanding Coopers & Lybrand’s Bristol-based insurance unit and then was a partner in PwC’s insurance restructuring group, focussing on administering insolvent insurers (such as KWELM, Charter Re, RMCA/ICS Re) and providing operational and strategic support to insurers, brokers and underwriting pool members, David was instrumental in PwC Japan’s leading role in supporting the restructuring of insolvent Japanese life insurers, such as Toho Life.  David's areas of expertise include restructuring insurance entities both financially and operationally, run-off, broking and MGA’s.  During his time at Tawa, David focussed on managing the operations and descaling of Tawa’s risk carriers, CX Re, KX Re and PXRE and is responsible for overseeing Tawa’s incubator projects, Q360 Ltd (a London Market broker) and Lodestar  Marine. He is currently a board member of Tawa Associates Ltd (”TAL”)
